You’ve probably heard the phrase, “Your thoughts create your reality.”

But let’s take that a step further...

The language you use about money — the things you say out loud, in your head, or casually to others — plays a powerful role in shaping your income, your mindset, and what you allow yourself to receive.

I call it your Money Language.

And once you start paying attention, you’ll hear it everywhere.

Sneaky Money Language That Keeps You Stuck

Here are some common phrases that might sound familiar:

• “I can’t afford that.”
  
• “I’m so bad with money.”
  
• “I don’t care about money.”
  
• “Must be nice…”
  
• “I could never charge that much.”
  
• “I’m broke.”
  

Now, I get it. These phrases often come out without thinking. You might even say them as a joke or just because you’ve heard them your whole life.

But here’s the thing: your words carry energy.

And these kinds of phrases can reinforce feelings of lack, fear, and resistance — even if you're actively working to grow your business or improve your finances.

What If You Spoke to Money Differently?

Let’s flip the script.

Here’s what a more empowered money language might sound like:

• “That’s not a priority for me right now.”
  
• “I’m learning to be great with money.”
  
• “I love being well-paid for my work.”
  
• “Money flows to me when I’m aligned.”
  
• “I’m open to receiving more.”
  

Can you feel the difference?

One set of phrases contracts your energy. The other expands it.
One keeps you playing small. The other invites possibility.

Your Money Language Is a Clue

Pay attention to the phrases you use around money — especially when you’re feeling triggered, pricing your offers, or making financial decisions.

Ask yourself:

• What do I say out loud about money?
  
• What are the quiet, automatic thoughts I have when I spend or earn?
  
• Where did I learn those phrases — and are they still true for me?
  
• What would I love to say about money if I felt totally safe?
  

There’s no shame if your current money language isn’t where you want it to be. We’ve all picked up limiting phrases and beliefs over the years.

The good news? You can change your money story — one word at a time.

Just start noticing.

Money is always listening.
