Money Affirmations That Actually Work (For Entrepreneurs Who've Tried Everything)

Can I be honest with you about money affirmations for a second?

When I first started using them, I felt like a complete idiot.

I was sitting in my car in a parking lot, whispering "I am a money magnet" to myself in the rearview mirror, and genuinely wondering if I'd lost the plot. I was broke. I had credit card debt. And I was talking to my reflection about being a magnet for something I didn't have.

Here's the thing though. It worked. Not overnight, not magically, but over time, as part of a consistent practice, affirmations genuinely shifted my relationship with money. And I've now watched thousands of people in Money Bootcamp use them to break through income ceilings they'd been stuck at for years.

So let's talk about what money affirmations actually are, why most people use them wrong, and which ones are worth adding to your daily practice.

What money affirmations are (and aren't)

A money affirmation is a statement you repeat to yourself, either out loud, in writing, or in your head, to start shifting your beliefs around money.

That's it. No magic. No manifesting-by-osmosis. Just a deliberately chosen thought you practice until it starts to feel more true than the old ones.

The old thoughts, the ones we're trying to replace, are things like:

  • "Money is hard to come by."
  • "I'm just not good with money."
  • "Rich people are greedy."
  • "I have to work myself into the ground to earn more."

You probably didn't consciously choose any of these beliefs. They came from your family, your upbringing, your culture, your first boss who paid you less than you were worth. They're not true. But they feel true, and that feeling is what runs your financial life.

Affirmations create a new track. You're not lying to yourself. You're practicing a different story until it becomes your default.

Why most affirmations don't work

Here's where people go wrong: they pick affirmations that are so far from their current reality that their brain immediately rejects them.

"I am a millionaire" when you're overdrawn. Your brain goes, yeah, no.

The dissonance is too big. You say it, you don't believe it, and the whole exercise feels embarrassing and pointless.

The affirmations that work are the ones that feel like a stretch, but not a lie. There's a difference between "I am a millionaire" and "I am open to receiving more money." One feels like a fantasy. The other feels possible.

This is why I love the EFT (tapping) approach to affirmations. You actually start by acknowledging where you are before reaching for where you want to go. Something like: "Even though I feel stressed about money right now, I deeply and completely love and accept myself." That's honest AND it creates a shift.

If you're new to EFT tapping for money, I've got a whole post on that here.

The other thing that stops affirmations from working

You say them once. During a nice morning, when you're feeling hopeful. And then you never say them again.

Affirmations are a practice, not a one-time event. They work the same way the gym works: one session doesn't change your body. Consistent sessions over time do.

I do affirmations every morning. I've been doing them for years. And yes, I still work on my money mindset, even as a multi-millionaire, because new levels always bring new blocks. That's just how it works.

The beautiful thing is it only needs to take five minutes. You don't need a ritual, an altar, or a specific journal. You just need consistency.

50+ money affirmations worth trying

I've organized these by theme so you can find the ones that feel most relevant to where you are right now.

For releasing fear and scarcity

  • Money is safe for me to receive.
  • I am allowed to want more and have more.
  • There is always more money. There is enough for everyone, including me.
  • It is safe for me to be wealthy.
  • My financial situation can and does change.
  • I release my fear of money and welcome abundance in its place.
  • I no longer have to earn money through struggle and sacrifice.
  • I am safe, even as my income grows.
  • Money coming to me doesn't take anything away from anyone else.
  • The more I have, the more good I can do in the world.

For building a new money story

  • Money flows to me easily and often.
  • I am someone who makes money and manages it well.
  • My relationship with money gets better every single day.
  • I grew up with one money story. I'm writing a new one now.
  • I am the first person in my family to have a truly healthy relationship with money. That is something to be proud of.
  • I forgive my past money mistakes. They were lessons, not life sentences.
  • I am allowed to earn more than my parents did.
  • I carry the patterns of the past lightly. They no longer run my finances.

For entrepreneurs and business owners

  • I charge what I'm worth and people pay it happily.
  • Every time I raise my prices, I attract better clients.
  • My income is not limited by my hours. I can earn more without working more.
  • People want to pay me for what I know and do.
  • I have permission to build a wealthy, sustainable business.
  • There are more than enough clients for me. I don't have to compete for scraps.
  • My success does not diminish anyone else's.
  • I release the belief that I have to struggle to deserve my income.
  • I can earn good money AND help people. These are not in conflict.
  • My business grows because I serve people well and I allow myself to be paid well for it.

For receiving and self-worth

  • I am worthy of wealth right now, not after I've worked harder or done more.
  • I allow myself to receive.
  • I am comfortable with money. I welcome it.
  • I deserve a first class life.
  • I stop over-delivering and start valuing my time appropriately.
  • Other people's financial struggles are not my responsibility to solve by shrinking my own income.
  • I can be generous AND profitable. Both things are true.
  • I accept money easily and with gratitude.
  • It is safe for me to earn more than the people around me.
  • My worth is not determined by my bank balance, but my bank balance is allowed to reflect how much value I bring to the world.

For releasing guilt around money

  • Being wealthy doesn't make me a bad person. It makes me someone with options.
  • I can use money for good. Rich, ethical people exist and I am one of them.
  • I release the idea that money is dirty or corrupting.
  • I am allowed to enjoy the money I've earned.
  • Spending money on myself is not selfish. It is self-respect.
  • I release money guilt and replace it with money gratitude.
  • My financial freedom allows me to give more, help more, and contribute more.

For manifesting and new income levels

  • I am open to unexpected income from unexpected sources.
  • Money comes to me in multiple ways.
  • I am always finding new ways to earn more.
  • My income increases every year.
  • I hit my income goals because I believe in them and I take action toward them.
  • I earn double what I used to without working twice as hard.
  • I welcome my next income level with ease.
  • New money, new opportunities, new possibilities, all heading my way.
  • It's my time and I'm ready for the next step.

How to actually use these

Pick 3-5 that feel like a stretch but not a lie. Too easy and there's no shift happening. Too far from your current reality and your brain rejects them.

Say them daily. Morning is ideal. Before the day grabs you and your brain switches into problem-solving mode. Even just while you're making coffee or driving the kids to school.

Write them out. There's something about physically writing affirmations that embeds them differently to just thinking them. Try writing your chosen ones five to ten times, and notice what resistance or counter-thoughts come up. Those are your blocks surfacing, which is actually useful information.

Combine them with EFT tapping. This is the technique I use most because it lets you acknowledge the block (the fear, the story, the resistance) while still reaching for the new belief. Start with the acknowledgment: "Even though I feel unworthy of wealth..." and finish with the shift: "...I choose to believe I'm allowed to have more." If you want to learn how to use tapping for money blocks, start here.

Don't monitor them obsessively. Use them, let them work in the background, and get on with your day. The shift happens over time, not in a single session.

One more thing

I want to say this because I think it's important: affirmations are a tool, not a magic wand.

They work best alongside other money mindset practices, understanding your origin story, clearing specific blocks, doing the forgiveness work, tracking your money, upgrading how you talk about finances. Affirmations are one part of a whole process.

If you feel like you've been saying affirmations for years and nothing's changed, it's worth looking deeper. Usually it means there are some very specific, deep-rooted beliefs that need more than daily repetition to shift.

That's exactly the work we do in Money Bootcamp, not just affirmations, but the full OCP process: uncovering your origin stories, connecting the dots to your current patterns, and interrupting the cycles that keep you stuck.

If you're ready to go beyond the surface-level stuff, the link's there when you are.

And in the meantime, keep talking to yourself in parking lots. It's worth it, I promise.

It's your time, and you're ready for the next step.
